Occupational Summary:


Performs processes on all types of production materials in manufacturing areas by performing the following duties:


Duties and responsibilities:


Refer to Shop Order or Move Ticket to perform proper wash and count processes.  Follow established policies, procedures and verbal instructions to perform scheduled work. May make adjustments to and/or set-up on machine/process with guidance.

Sign and date Shop Orders or Move Ticket upon completion of a job and accurately report quantity produced and quantity lost/scrapped. Work subject to process inspection.

Maintains established production levels and quality standards

Handle parts according to established procedures

Other responsibilities of the Wash and Count Operator will include, but not limited to, the following:

  1. Maintain necessary records.
  2. Detect and report unusual conditions to proper Supervisor/Team Leader.
  3. Move materials, tooling, parts and containers in performance of duties or as directed.
  4. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
  5. Keep work area clean and equipment in clean and orderly condition.
  6. Assist with training of operators and new personnel, as required.
  7. Perform other duties as required or directed.


NOTES:     (1)   Assigned work areas may change as production requirements warrant.


                  (2)   Wash and Count Operators are responsible for producing quality work; i.e. within                                 

          specification. Non-conformance to specifications must be brought to the attention of the                                 Team Leader or Supervisor.


Job Skills:

High School diploma or equivalent

Ability to lift 40 lbs.


Other Requirements:

Ability to read and understand complex written and verbal instructions in English

Attention to detail

Able to be flexible and respond to the changing needs of the organization


Physical job requirements may include standing, use of hands to assemble and or carry out job functions as well as sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending and stooping during the course of the job.
